Effect of pH Levels Against Water Health Drinks for Body

Water health drinks is very important for the body. In this discussion specifically addresses the pH as this may seem trivial to most people but it is actually very important in matters of health. because somehow pH is the primary parameter whether the water is suitable for consumption or not.

pH is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions that dissolve the starting range of 0-14 and 7 as the neutral point. Acidic water has a pH below 7 and alkaline water above 7. US Environmental Protection Agency set a pH that is safe to drink is between 6.5 to 8.5. The figure makes sense because, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), pH extremes or with numbers above 11 can cause irritation of the eyes and skin, and vice versa pH below 4 can cause irritation because of the corrosive effect.

In addition to bad taste, premises acidic water pH is very low because it flows through a metal pipe which can trigger a number of toxic brain and nerve problems, and reproductive problems such as seizures, decreased hearing ability as well as miscarriages. Excessive exposure of zinc and copper from pipes rusted can trigger vomiting or diarrhea. These symptoms are caused not only from water exposed iron, but also of a high pH level.

Not only humans, but animals that live in the water can be affected by changes in pH extremes. Examples of fish that die from pH drop further to 4.5 or above 10. According to reports from the Northeastern Regional Aquaculture Center of the University of Maryland, many external factors that can make the pH fluctuates extreme degradation of basement rock, acid rain, carbon dioxide and waste water disposal.

The damage caused to the surface of the water is very significant because 60 percent of the water consumed by the public comes from surface water sources. This can negatively impact because it is easily exposed which makes the content of the pH in the water change.
